Item Description

A very showy, old-time rhodochrosite specimen from Japan's largest manganese deposit, now closed. Pretty, moderately lustrous, pastel-pink, flattened rhodochrosite rhombs cover the undulating sculptural crust of solid, banded, rose-red rhodochrosite. Ex. Howard Belsky Collection. Howard started as a mineral dealer at age 13 in 1972, became a sophisticated dealer and died tragically at age 28 in 1987. Valued at $900.
