Rhodochrosite - superb TN from the classic late 1970s find

The famed 1978 rhodochrosite finds at the N'Chwaning I Mine are one of the great specimen finds of all time. This is a very cute and classic thumbnail spray of scalenohedrons. The glassy crystals are beautiful, gem, cherry-red. Complete all-around and a very aesthetic spray. Yes, the tips to the two large crystals are gently bruised and contacting on the sides, where other crystals once lay, with very little damage are noted, but are certainly not enough to detract from the overall excellent quality of this fine thumbnail. Valued at $895 by the former dealer, and I would say $1000-1500 if on a shelf at Tucson, quite easily.
