Item Description
Pretty orchid-pink, lustrous, translucent, flattened rhodochrosite rhombohedrons densely fill a striking cavernous vug in the sculptural small cabinet matrix. The rhombs reach 1.1 cm on the diagonal. The Inakuraishi mine was Japan's largest manganese deposit, mainly from rhodochrosite and is now closed. An old-time, very fine and uncommon example of this rhodochrosite crystal style and color from the locale.
