Item Description
A strikingly aesthetic miniature of very unusual style and crystallization habit. The juicy, deep cherry-red crystals in the two intergrown clusters have high luster and translucence. The crystals are much more complex than what you normally see on rhodochrosite from this mine. There are no "normal" scalenohedrons present, all have pinacoidal terminations on this piece. Periphery wear is noted, but the interor is pristine. This impressive miniature really stands up in the spectrum of such pieces, as it can be displayed from many angles. This would have been mined in the 1978-1982 range. Valued at $1200-1500
