Item Description

This area arguably has produced the most sculptural Rhodochrosites from any locality in Peru. The Huachocolpa District in Peru is famous for its fantastic, highly aesthetic "rose" or "rosette"-esque Rhodochrosite specimens. They were found circa 2007, and we've only had a few pieces to offer over the years. This piece is a fantastic curved, "rosette" group comprising highly compressed soft pink bladed crystals which are associated with a bit of white drusy Quartz. The elegant, three-dimensional quality of the specimen along with the gorgeous color and scarcity on the market makes it highly desirable and fine quality example of these little known specimens. A must have for ANY Rhodochrosite collector. Valued in the inventory at $1,250. From the worldwide Rhodochrosite collection of Dr. William S. Logan (Specimen #1322537C / 2815). According to the label, this piece is illustrated in self-published book, Rhodochrosite - Crystals of Drama and Nuance.
