Rhodochrosite and Quartz (classic CO)

Item Description

Sunnyside Mine rhodochrosites are a desirable Colorado classic. This showy and excellent specimen features intergrown, sharp, lustrous, translucent, lightly frosted with quartz, rose-pink rhombs to 1.5 cm on the diagonal on a bed of sparkly, drusy quartz. The piece is in very fine shape, except the isolated rhomb is cleaved. It has two fine display views. Excellent and highly representative combination material from this mine. The newest Lithographie issue is devoted entirely to minerals of the San Juans. Good timing!
