Item Description
These are unique, puzzling rhodochrosite crystals, not like we see from any other location. They were found only a few times in the 1980s and 1990s, and tended to float into the market only slowly from the small groups who collected them (including Shield's friend Ernie Schlichter, from whom this came in 1980). Sharp pseudo-triangular rhodochrosite crystals (to 2 cm) look like flat triangles here, but it is a rare kind of twinning, not actually triangular crystals. Others say they are casts, replacements after serandite of some weird form. Maybe the jury is still out on that. In any case, rare material! Old classic material, now decades out of the ground.
