Item Description

Sweet Home Rhodochrosites are synonymous with superb quality and color for the species. They are beloved around the world as they are simply some of, if not the best crystallized examples of the Rhodochrosite ever found. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the significance of these specimens, but I think even beginner collectors are familiar with these truly impressive pieces, as they are iconic when it comes to fine minerals. This miniature sized specimen features a group of sharp, lustrous, gorgeous rich pinkish-red color rhombs of Rhodochrosite measuring up to 2.3 cm, sitting on minor Sphalerite matrix. The crystals are in good shape, though some minor imperfections are visible. The color along with the fact that the main Rhodo crystal GLOWS with color when backlit, makes this a very desirable and good quality piece of this classic material. Good Sweet Home Rhodos are becoming less common to find on the market, and the prices seem to rise ever years. If you've always wanted a good sized specimen of this world-famous material for a great price, don't pass this one up as it is an great representation of these iconic specimens. Priced in our inventory at $6,500.
