Item Description
These distinctive and eye-catching Chinese Rhodos have appeared on the market in the late 2000s, and have all but dried up now. The specimens really remind me of specimens I've seen from various mines in Colorado. If this Rhodo were from the Sweet Home mine, it would be a great treasure for many Colorado collectors. This piece features a sharp, semi lustrous, reddish-pink, flattened rhombohedron of Rhodochrosite with no matrix. The piece is not 100% complete, but it still has good crystal form. It glows with color when backlit. You really don't see many of these new Rhodos from Wutong on the market anymore, and the locality has produced nothing in the way of specimens in recent years.
