Rhodochrosite

These distinctive and eye-catching Chinese Rhodos have appeared on the market a few years ago, and seem to have dried up now. The specimens really remind me of specimens I've seen from various mines in Colorado. If this Rhodo were from the Sweet Home mine, it would be a great treasure for many Colorado collectors. This piece features a blocky, fairly thick, translucent / gemmy, reddish-pink rhomobohedron of Rhodochrosite. Good shape overall, though it does have a cleave on the bottom. You really don't see many of these new Rhodos from Wutong available, and the locality has produced little to nothing in the way of specimens in recent years.
