Item Description

Rhodochrosite is among the most popular of species among collectors, and it's a good thing that it's found in so many world localities. Good Mexican Rhodochrosite specimens are few and far between these days, but certainly sought after. This piece is a beautiful and striking specimen from Santa Eulalia. Certainly old material, and beautiful for the species. It consists of eye-catching spherical / botryoidal aggregates of sparkling vivid pink Rhodochrosite on oxidized matrix. When we pulled out the macro lens to take close up photos, we found a few unusual semi-acicular, light green crystals of an unidentified mineral - possibly Aurichalcite(?). If you're a Rhodo collector, a Mexican mineral collector, or a if you just like colorful display pieces from less common localities, this piece is for you.
