Rhodochrosite

Item Description

A showy flattened rhodochrosite rhomb from recent Chinese finds. This translucent and lustrous crystal is rose-red and has three frosted, stepped-growth faces (two visible on the front). The display face is in good shape, with only the two small dinged areas on the crestline noted. Two of the three faces on the back are cleaved. This remains a highly representative example of the species and locale. The Wutong Mine is now closed and there is little likelyhood, that it will reopen anytime soon. Get one while you can.
