Item Description

A fabulously segmented and sculptural rhodochrosite specimen from the Uchucchacua Mine. Gemmy and lustrous, rose-red scalenohedrons to 1.1 cm fully line three dramatic vugs separated by sulfide septae in the boxwork matrix. Parts of the vugs are lined with pastel-pink, botryoidal rhodochrosite. The artistic composition and the contrast between the rhodos and the sulfide septae is most striking. Very uncommon in this form from this famous locale.
