Rhodochrosite (3 pieces - mined 1978 by Rich Kosnar and Dave Bergman)

For those who don't know, Richard Kosnar mined the Sweet Home for a few years during the late 1970's and managed to collect some excellent Rhodo specimens. This piece is from one of the last pockets that Rich and his mine foreman Dave Bergman (Brian Kosnar's maternal grandfather) opened before they were done at the mine. These three specimens feature a lovely pink-red color rhombohedra of Rhodochrosite; two of which have a bit of attached matrix. The crystals are sharp and well-formed with great color and translucency for the size I don't have to tell you that these pieces are selling for top dollar across the board. A worthwhile set of specimens of Rhodochrosite from this most classic of localities.
