Item Description

Exceptional specimen of massive and highly sculptured Rhodochrosite from the famous Wessels Mine. The color is an excellent rich pink, but what sets it apart is the texture of the Rhodo. For all the world, it looks like a piece of dense, pink coral. Whether it is a pseudo, a cast, or the product of dissolution, I cannot tell for sure. we believe it to be a rhodochrosit replacement of another mineral that fille dthe inside of a pocket, and preserved the contours of the pocket - probably hollow, too. But for sure, it is very aesthetic, and certainly on of the more unusual Rhodochrosites I have seen.
