Item Description
This very rich and showy small cabinet specimen comes from a limited 2015 find at the N'Chwaning III Mine. Rhodochrosite is rare from this newest N'Chwaning mine, which became fully operational in 2006. This piece features beautiful, sparkling pink rhodochrosite crystals on matrix, best appreciated up close for their vibrant color and fine detail. Unlike the more common elongated prismatic forms found in the N'Chwaning mines, this specimen exhibits rhombohedral habits, making it particularly special. This is a rare, rich, and excellent example of rhodochrosite with a classic yet uncommon habit from the N'Chwaning III Mine. Ex Jingnan (Tom) Zhang.
