Here we have a lovely display quality Rhodochrosite specimen from the renowned Stari Trg Mine in Kosovo, the central mine at the Trepca Complex. This famed locale for many years has been a source of amazing display / association specimens. It is quite well-known for its beautiful sulfides and even has produced some impressive pieces of various carbonates like Rhodochrosite This piece hosts a coverage of soft pink colored, sparkling, radiating groups, which completely cover the underlying matrix. The back of the specimen features an open cavity that almost looks like a "cast", filled with metallic golden Pyrite pseudomorphs after Pyrrhotite for a nice touch. No major damage I can find on the display side, and the piece is very showy and eye-catching. If you collect worldwide Rhodos, this is a locality that is not often represented in a lot of collections, so don't miss out. Valued $1,500.
