Item Description

This piece dates back to 1976-1977 (According to the old Rocksmiths label that accompanies it), and features a style that is rarely seen from the N'Chwaning Mines in South Africa. This miniature sized specimen hosts lustrous, rich rose colored bladed crystals of Rhodochrosite forming semi "rosette"-esque groups, off matrix. The back of the specimen is slightly hollow, featuring tiny metallic black Hematite crystals. If you're a fan of Rhodochrosite or minerals from the Kalahari Manganese Field, this is a unique style and a beautiful display specimen of this classic material. I would have this one priced in the $2,000 range if it were on the shelf at a show.
