Rhodizite is one of the more impressive rare minerals that has been found in Madagascar. Before the discovery here it was only found in the Ural Mountains, England, and Wisconsin. Rhodizite forms a series with the newly approved species Londonite, with Rhodizite being the potassium end member. This very fine Rhodizite is a sharp, well-formed prism that is a full 1.1 cm long. The luster is excellent, and it is translucent with a hint of gemminess. This Beryllium Borate is a rare gem mineral and is highly sought after by gem and mineral collectors alike.
