Item Description
Tsumeb cerussites are among the world's finest and this is striking, aesthetic and colorful small cabinet example. The intensely reticulated sculptural cluster of thick blades has classic, very dense "snowflake" form on both sides with textbook adamantine luster. The open boxwork on the upper part of this snowflake is spectacular and highly desirable - mesmerizing, is a good way to describe it. Most of the blades are a pretty straw-yellow with the rest being near colorless. Periphery wear is, as with mos tof these, present. It is certainly a modest detraction in value and is apparent from the sides. However, from the front display angle, looking into the boxwork, this looks like it would easily be a $5000 cerussite, if pristine. A beautiful, very nifty and classic Tsumeb cerussite from 1960s or 1970s mining here.
