Item Description
An incredibly rare specimen of the hydrate nickel sulfate, Retgersite from the Nickel Mine, Cottonwood Canyon, Nevada. This species was named in 1949 after Dutch crystallographer, Jan Willem Retgers, and while it is known from several world localities, pieces from this locality in Nevada are virtually impossible to find. This thumbnail sized piece features attractive micro aggregates of soft blue-green colored Retgersite on both sides. We have photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. This is one of those rarities that comes along once in a blue moon, so don't pass it up, as you may not have another chance to get one anytime soon.
