Red Tourmaline (old classic)

Item Description

Luscious red, gemmy, transparent to translucent, rubellite crystals are dramaticaly clustered on the lavender lepidolite matrix on this very showy specimen from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The impressive large crystal is 6.1 cm and the water-clear, 7 mm sidecar is a super accent. The top of the large crystal appears to be rehealed. Brusing is noted, but this remains a highly desirable red tourmaline dating to the 1960s or 70s from this noted locale. Specimens of this richness don't come along that often. Valued at $1250-1500.
