Item Description

These gorgeous, cranberry-red tipped bi-colored tourmalines from the famous Cruzeiro Mine are a Brazilian classic. The doubly terminated floater has a striking, translucent to transparent, skyscraper termination above the beautiful, starkly contrasting, well-striated, gemmy, grass-green body. The glassy pinacoidal basal termination is a combination of red and green. The crystal is also very slightly bent from tectonic forces. The crystal really GLOWS, when backlit! Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only trivial side wear in the red of the skyscraper termination. This outstanding tourmaline is from the Steve Smale Collection and from the well-known, late 1980s, "Lipstick Pocket". 35 grams. Fairly valued at $3000-4500
