Red Quartz (scepters)

Item Description

A really attractive piece of the well-known "red" Quartz specimens from the Orange River area. Obviously the crystals are coated with Hematite (or some other kind of iron oxide), and the effect is dazzling. The Orange River area in South Africa is well known for these specimens, along with a few others like green Fluorite, and I never grow weary of them. This specimen was collected about 10 years ago. The piece is in good shape for the size, as most of the crystals are pristine. The slight scepter habit along with the gorgeous orange-red and smoky dual tone color combination makes for a wonderful overall specimen.
