Item Description

A beautiful "burst" of strong red color Quartz crystals from Chella in Spain. This material is called "Jacintos de Compostela" locally, and sometimes the outdated term "Eisenkiesel" is used. The Quartz gets its color from a strong amount of Hematite inclusions, and is some of the most intense red Quartz I have seen from any locality. The crystals themselves are very sharp and well formed, with simple hexagonal prismatic form. The piece is truly a "floater" as it is completely crystallized all the way round, and has no point of contact on any side. I have never seen a piece quite like from Chella. A unique and very attractive little thumbnail specimen that would make a great addition to a Quartz collection, a thumbnail suite, or a even a collection of included Quartzes!
