Item Description

A really attractive piece of the well-known "red" Quartz specimens from the Orange River area. Obviously the crystals are coated with Hematite (or some other kind of iron oxide), and the effect is dazzling. The Orange River area is well known for these specimens. This specimen was collected about 10 years ago. The piece is in good shape for the size, as most of the crystals are pristine, especially the predominant crystal flaring off the piece which measures 2.7 cm.
