Item Description
A gorgeous, bi-colored red gem tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The glassy, transparent to translucent body is a gorgeous strawberry-red and the narrow termination zone is classic, Jonas Mine-like, cranberry-red. The upper 1.1 cm is particularly gemmy and the pincoical termination is out of sight with gemmy glassiness. A couple of cleavelandite blades are embedded in the termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only very trivial termination edgewear. This is rare, desirable and exceptional old-time material from the 1960s or 1970s. Valued at $2500-3000 and well worth it. 49 grams. MUCH, MUCH BETTER IN PERSON!!! Very difficult to photograph due to extreme glassiness and INTENSE COLOR SATURATION! The pics are good, but it really is better in person.
