Item Description

A stunning, bi-colored, red gem tourmaline from a NEW January, 2011 find at the famous Cruzeiro Mine! The limpid, parallel-growth body is a pleasing cranberry-pink and the complex pinacoidal termination is cranberry-red, like famous Jonas Mine tourmalines. The body and termination also have inclusions of lighter pink tourmaline. This crystal has an unusually scalloped termination, but no damage. This is technically a doubly terminated crystal. The base was broken and is admittedly, roughly rehealed. This cutie is highly unusual in the lot we received, in that it is parallel-growth crystal (nearly all are single crystals) and this piece has a very nifty perpendicular crystal embedded in the lower termination. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only a bit of bit of contacting on one side. Red tourmalines have always been very highly desirable and here is your chance to get a real beauty from a brand-new find. 7 grams. This was ONE pocket.
