Item Description
A glorious, old, bi-colored gem tourmaline from the famous Cruzeiro Mine. The gorgeous, rich rose-red core of the body actually has a near invisible light gray outer rind. The stunning, 9 mm, water-clear, light teal-blue zone is capped by an unusual 1 mm, frosted and etched, pink pinacoidal termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. A out-of-sight contact on the backside, where another crystal once lay, has only a trivil bit of bruising. 29 grams mass. Outstanding old-time elbaite from this locale. The 15 cm (6 inch) faded paper label has a 1974 date and a $3000 price on the back.
