Item Description

A startling and superb Swiss fluorite specimen from a locale that very rarely produces specimens of any species. And it is RED, not jus tpale pink as usual! Gemmy, vivid red-pink fluorite octahedrons with frosted/etched faces aesthetically cover the granitic matrix for a 3-dimensional display. The crowning octahedron is 1.5 cm. Pink fluorite and smoky quartz are the epitome of Alpine species and this is an outstanding example but from a locality seldom seen. The quality is more the color typical of French material, for color. The crystals glow gorgeous pink with any strong light. ALL of the many fluorite crystals are pristine, excepting very modest periphery wear. This colorful and important specimen has many display angles too, as you can see. From the alpine suite of the Howard Belsky Collection, who was very meticulous about his locality information, prior to his untimely death in 1987. Valued at $3000
