Red Beryl

An attractive thumbnail of two red beryl crystals jauntily perched on matrix from Utah. The aesthetically placed terminated crystals have glassy luster and beautiful violet-red color. The large crystal is 6 mm, mostly gemmy, with some included rhyolite. The small crystal is all gemmy. The unusual granular rhyolite matrix is richly infused with red beryl. An excellent thumbnail of the rarest of beryl species. There has been very little recent production from this famous locale. In fact, almost none. And there will never be much more, I would bet. This is a showy and highly representative thumbnail with intense sharp crystals.
