A really cute thumbnail of a 8 mm red beryl crystal set in rhyolite matrix. The crystal has high luster and gorgeous violet-red color. Portions of the crystal are gemmy and portions have embedded rhyolite, including the termination. A highly representative thumbnail of the rarest of beryl species. There has been very little recent production from this famous locale. In fact, almost none. And there will never be much more, I would bet. This outstanding thumbnail is intense, sharp, complete and aesthetic. It looks good from either side.
