Red Beryl

A very cute and excellent red beryl crystal mounted on rhyolite matrix from Utah. The crystal has high luster and gorgeous violet-red color. Portions of the crystal are very gemmy and portions are translucent. This is an important thumbnail crystal, as it is pristine. A highly representative thumbnail of the rarest of beryl species. There has been very little recent production from this famous locale. In fact, almost none. And there will never be much more, I would bet, with the current politics and mining there.
