Item Description

About 20 RARE red apophyllite crystals are embedded on this sculptural large 360-degree combination from recent finds in Jalgaon. The glassy, highly lustrous, translucent tabular tetragonal crystals, to 4.1 cm, have variable hues, which are accented by the striking arborescent sprays of red oxides on frontal faces and the layering and impressive stepped-growth of the highly lustrous prism faces. Scattered sharp pearlescent stilbite blades are a fine accessory. The striking, isolated, protruding doubly terminated stilbite is 3.7 cm long. The 3-dimensional contrasting snow-white matrix is knobby, nubby Mordenite, another Zeolite Group species. One edge has been sawed to enhance the display quality of this very showy, rare and rich combination. Jalgaon continually amazes with world-class Zeolite Group specimens.
