Item Description
Realgar from the Shimen Mine of China is world-renowned and this showy and excellent combination specimen is a fine example. Bright cherry-red, translucent to gemmy realgar crystals are richly and aesthetically strewn on the face of a nifty parallel-growth cluster of glassy, translucent calcite crystals. A striking and beautiful accent are the two, intergrown, gem, doubly terminated and twinned calcite crystals to 2.0 cm. The back has been sawed to enhance the display quality. Bruised realgar crystals are noted on the upper left, but have very minimal impact to the high quality of this aesthetic combination piece. It displays beautifully without aid.
