Beautiful highly lustrous, gem cherry-red to translucent reddish-orange realgar prisms are richly and aesthetically clustered on the front of the contrasting sculptural blocky chalky carbonate matrix and are scattered on all sides of this striking piece. The crystals on the front reach 1.6 cm. This came from the famous late 2005 find at this mine. Yes, there are some bruised and broken crystals, but this remains a rich, excellent and showy example of the species and locale. Classic Baia Sprie realgar.
