Item Description
Cordierite from this locality sets the standard for the species. Unlike the ugly material from most places, it is actually pretty here - sometimes. The two sharp crystals have a waxy brown/olive-green look to the surface on the best specimens, such as this one. These crystals even have a bit of gemmy translucence! This was collected by Robert Whitmore in the 1970s and is a very aesthetic cluster set in quartz-rich matrix. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
