Item Description
Purple-cap tourmalines are RARE from the renowned Himalaya Mine, having come from only a couple of pockets. This striking and beautiful gemmy tourmaline is bi-colored and doubly terminated. The lustrous, dark purple termination is underlain by a 1-mm, light green zone with the body being the classic "Himalaya pink". The basal termination is gemmy, yellow to green and is partially contacted, with no damage, with lepidolite and small tourmaline crystals. The crystal is complete on the front and sides and the rear face has a large diagonal contact running through the back, where it grew against another crystal: this large contact on the back has only a trivial bit of edge wear around the periphery. Ohterwise undamaged. Older material! 40 grams mass.
