Item Description

A VERY RARE and desirable old-time combination specimen from the famous mines of the Camborne - Redruth - St Day District of Cornwall. Olivenite specimens are a Cornwall classic. The vuggy front of this very showy piece is richly covered with sparkly, sharp black to green olivenite crystals. The olivenites rest on RARE matrix of massive, light green fluorite with oxide-coated quartz. The fluorite fluoresces purple to bright white. The olivenites resemble specimens from famous Wheal Gorland area and this old-timer undoubtedly dates to 1800s. This is a superb and RARE old combination specimen for the species from this locale. Valued $1000-1250.
