Manganoan calcite twins are RARE from this noted Pervian district. A striking, stout, 2.9 cm, doubly terminated, twinned, pretty pastel-pink crystal is jauntily set on the rolling mounded matrix of spherical aggregates of tiny manganoan calcite scalenohedrons nicely accented with scattered sprays of tiny water-clear quartz points and a few sharp, brassy pyritohedrons. Orange-pink fluorescence on the large crystal and muted fluorescence on the smaller crystals. This is a rare and outstanding combination from the Art Soregaroli Collection. BETTER IN PERSON.
