Item Description

Ferrimolybdite is an uncommon secondary mineral commonly formed from the alteration of molybdenite. Radial clusters of sulfur-yellow ferrimolybdite needles are festooned on all sides of the large vuggy quartz-rich matrix. The needles reach 5-6 mm, which are very large for the locale. This large, colorful and exceptionally rich two-sided combination is from an obscure Idaho mine and specimens are seldom available. Ex Art Soregaroli Collection.
