"Nested" calcite twins are rare from the historic Joplin Field of the Tri-State District and this is a dramatic and outstanding large old-time example. You can easily see the upper end of the large portion of the beautiful, lustrous, transparent to translucent golden-yellow crystal "nested" in the upper termination. Complete all-around and nearly pristine in the display side, for such a large crystal. The upper termination has only very gentle bruising, one small scuff is noted and the light cleave to the lower termination is mostly out-of-sight. The attachment is on the middle of the back. This is an exceptional and rare style calcite from this famous locale from the George Feist Collection # 641. Valued at $1100.
