Item Description

Striking and beautiful colors highlight this sculptural and aesthetic intergrown cluster of dramatically stepped-growth fluorite cubes from this historic old silver and cobalt mine, worked intermittently from the 1700s until after World War II for uranium (MINDAT). The lustrous, translucent, bi-colored cubes, with frosted faces have an amber core, a pretty gemmy blue-green layer and purple out layer with striking preferential iron oxide coatings. This piece looks great from either direction. Moderate rich purple fluoresence. Fluorite specimens of this outstanding quality are rarely available. Ex J.M. Welting Collection. valued $750
