Item Description
A prominent turquoise seam crowns this sculptural specimen and dramatically highlights the layered piece. The partially polished face shows classic, rich turquoise-blue color with some green. The seam is up to 1.1 cm thick and there is another thin seam below in the layered, oxidized quartz monazite matrix. The mine is famous for turquoise pseudomorphs after hexagonal beryl crystals. Turquoise specimens, other than the beryl pseudomorphs, are uncommon from here.
