A rich, hefty specimen of Braunite ore with abundant , fine, granular massive aggregates of Quenselite and local areas of well-formed, black, metallic, scintillating microcrystals of Quenselite. Minor amounts of white Calcite as veinlets and tiny crystals in association. Quenselite is a rare lead manganese oxide-hydroxide named after Percy Quensel, Professor of Mineralogy, University of Stockholm, Sweden. The piece comes with original Scalisi Collection label and copy of a Gregory, Bottley and Lloyd label. From the type locality at Långban, Filipstad, Varmland, Sweden. valued $750
