Item Description

Striking, sculptural, differently shaped hematite-included quartz crystals from the Orange River and the Heini Soltau Collection. Each cluster has distinctive form, glassiness, luster, translucence and variable amount of included hematite. The central crystal cluster is highlighted by the large crystal, stepped-growth faces and rich brick-red color. The sculptural parallel-growth crystal cluster on the right is the glassiest of the three, has much richer red color and all of the terminations have striking phantoms. The large crystal in the angled cluster is a scepter and these gemmy crystals have the least amount of included hematite. The plethora of speckles adds pizzazz. A fascinating, artistic and colorful trio from the locale. Every turn of the pieces presents a distinctively different perspective to the crystals!
