Item Description

A hard to find classic Quartz specimen from the famous Harz Mountains. This piece features several predominant, sharp, rather lustrous, milky white crystals of Quartz which are coated by a selective deposition of tan Siderite. The larger Quartz crystal in the center is contacted, but the overall quality of the piece is certainly good, and it's a wonderful "hand sized" display specimen from a defunct mineral producing region. The piece comes from the collection of Allen Heyl, a geologist from Colorado for whom the species Aheylite was named after.
