Quartz with Rutile ''needle'' inclusion (Pinwheel Cut)

These stones are some of the most interesting and creative gems you'll find. They feature colorless Quartz with a SINGLE needle inclusion of Rutile, which has to be expertly positioned into the center of the culet at the bottom of the gem, and when the stone is cut at the proper angle, the needle will reflect on all sides, creating what some call a "Pinwheel Cut". This stone is a wonderful example of this beautiful material featuring a deep red Rutile crystal that bounces it's metallic hue all over the gem when viewed through the table. It certainly looks better in person than the photo or video might indicate. Rare, exotic and unique!
