Quartz with Rutile

This sharp and gemmy, bright, sparkling specimen of quartz has marvelous inclusion of rutile within, plus dense clusters of twinned, intergrown rutile, on the surface. It is from the high altitude Alchuri/Hashupa area of alpine-type clefts, reachable and collectible only in a short summer mining season! Material of this quality is extremely rare, and for that matter any titanium minerals from Pakistan are fairly rare as well. This specimen has rich crystals and great color. This is a sharp, floater specimen, complete all around on the quartzes. They quartz stands like a tower upon a small amount of matrix. Sometimes the dense clusters of rutile twins are called Sagenite, although this seems not a real mineralogical term.
