Item Description
Handsome cluster of sharply terminated, translucent, milky white, Quartz crystals that transition to clear at the terminations. The glassy lustered Quartz crystals display multiple habits including normal and hexagonal habits along with a small crystal having a trigonal habit. A very interesting and complex piece! This grouping of elongated crystals, measuring up to 5.5 cm tall and 1.6 cm wide, also has a secondary preferential coverage of a metallic luster, golden Pyrite combined with some unnamed minor dark gray colored mineral possibly Sphalerite. The piece is in great condition with only a few small nicks. The cluster displays well with a nice statuesque cityscape appearance with most of the crystal faces exhibiting horizontal growth striations even on the terminations. A simple yet elegant Quartz specimen with a splash of metallics from the A.L. Kidwell Collection, that he purchased in 1974. European classic style!
